Deleting duplicate files fails
Posted: 2019 Jul 08, 15:19
I have inherited 26GB of digital files from my late father.
After some sorting Out I am left with 20596 files in 1044 folders using 25,834,611,695 bytes of space
when I use > Tools > Check Duplicates
I get a scrap container which reports 20563 files using 25,832,156,833 of space
(good enough )
using > Tools > check duplicates again I get the 'duplicates-detection' windos
I have selected ..... Name + Size + Select all duplicates
which reports 13769 duplicate files using 17,128,925,353 of space
I Then select > File > Delete (Crtl+Del)
A 'preparing to recycle' window pops up
Then I get a beep and an error message "the selection does not support this verb"
I can understand why the recycle bin might not kile 17GB being stuffed into it but ... I was not trying to 'recycle' but to Delete?
Any Help appreciated
regards
Mark
