Trying to use/access cloud storage through xplorer² 4.2.0.1
Posted: 2019 Aug 05, 23:10
Okay, in an attempt to be brutally honest about myself, I'm not yet all that common of an xplorer² user (even though I bought Ultimate). However, with the information I received today about the new 4.2.0.1 update, the talk about accessing/viewing files in the cloud (I use Dropbox), has piqued my interest.
The problem I'm having (and why I've posted this) is because of the following difficulty:
Although I can find a number of web pages here on the site (and elsewhere) that describe that you CAN use xplorer² with Dropbox, OneDrive, Google, Box, etc, none of the pages describe HOW to do it. I scanned through every menu in xplorer² and nothing really talks about Cloud (or Dropbox, for that matter) in the menu. Dumb as it might be, I've even tried putting in the web address I use to access Dropbox through a web browser, into xplorer², but no go.
Yes, I did check out the ADVANCED OPTIONS / GLOBAL / MORE OPTIONS in order to check-mark the box for Allow downloading on-demand cloud files for preview etc, but aside from that, I'm stumped. I even reviewed the entire HKCU registry entry for xplorer². Nothing about cloud or Dropbox.
I'm quite willing to believe that I'm probably just a dumb idiot that can't read anything. I am therefore hoping that some kind soul will explain what was (I'm sure) probably staring me right in the face, and how I enable/use cloud support (specifically for Dropbox).
Thanks to any of you for reading this far.

P.S. If it matters, when I press 'F1" while I'm in xplorer², there is no text or images about cloud storage.
P.P.S. Sorry for being verbose, but I wanted to make sure I didn't leave any places I could have looked out. But, of course, I probably did.
