Problem with Move

Post by pj »

"Houston, we have a problem..."

X2 4.4.0.1 ULT X64 on Win 7 HP.

This is a second occurance of this anomaly/problem.
  • I selected a small file in the visible window of a tab in the top pane
  • Sticky was off, no other files selected.
  • Pressed [F6] to move the file to a folder in another tab on the same pane.
  • Used the drop down to select the tab and pressed enter to start the transfer.
  • Expected the transfer to be almost instantaneous because of the small file size (less than 50k)
  • The MOVE window pops up, and is moving a multi-megabyte file that was the target for the previous COPY operation.
  • The multi-megabyte file is in a different tab, and in the lower pane, so there was no way it was selected and in the active tab/active pane.
  • Immediately pressed CANCEL to close the MOVE window and stop the operation.
  • Repeated the MOVE, making sure only the small file in the currently active tab/pane was selected.
  • Move completed as expected, so quickly the MOVE window didn't even open up.
  • As I said, I saw this once before but didn't note the details.
I'll upgrade to the latest version over the weekend, but unless you found and corrected something in the COPY/MOVE function to clear out old data that you didn't note in the upgrade text file, this is probably still out there.

Unfortunately not.

If I see it happening again, I'll pause the operation and grab screen shots.
