In a fit of nostalgia, I went to Wikipedia to look up some software birthdates. Looking at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compariso ... e_managers
I found very old info for Xplorer². Latest stable version
December 13, 2017; 3 years ago (3.5.0.2)
There are also some question marks in the tables for features X² definitely supports.

You should get your salesperson (you) to update that page. It seems to have missed the entire 4.x era of X² !

Wikipedia had migrated much of its contents to Wikidata a few years ago to have a unified (and queryable) database of everything non-prose, but it turns out that version information is missing:

never heard of wikidata, what is it for?
anyway I edited the (English) information in compare file managers section, so it's all set for the time being

Wikidata manages all kind of... well... data. For software, it includes version data. See - for example - the entry about the Total Commander:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q80201

Scroll down to the Version Identifier.
Wikipedia articles can just embed this information in all language versions:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Commander

You might see that the version information is not to be found in the article source itself. :)
