As a keyboard-centric user having to use the mouse to select the Multi-function box bothers me. I have looked through the help to see if there is a keyboard activation for it but not found one. Now I see this forum reply from Nikos saying there isn't one.
Mostly I need this when having typed a few characters in a folder pane to jump to a file, this is detected as a filter and entered in the Multi-function box. If it isn't what I wanted I would like to be able to press a key to jump to the Multi-function box so I can press Ctrl-A, Del to clear it before going back to the folder pane.
There are two features I would like to have keyboard shortcuts for, one to jump to the Multi-function box and one to clear it without even having to jump to it. Any chance you could add these?

Re: Multi-function box - keyboard use
since the focus automatically jumps to the filterbar, there's no need for another shortcut
a workaround is to press SHIFT+TAB to jump in the addressbar then press TAB to go to the filter
once inside the filter press F2 to clear it
