opening zip files on shared folders crashes .54 under XP Pro

Post by MeToo »

Hi Nikos

Just found this bug in xplorer2.
It crashes when I open a zip file in a shared folder either on the server or on another PC. I'm using XP Pro SP1.
Why don't you include a GNU unzip.dll (and unrar.dll also) ? This would probably fix the problem and allow users of Win98 (which doesn't have unzip embedded) to have that useful feature and at the same time save them the need to have a separate packing program.

Here is the DBmon listing:

I can confirm this problem (also WinXP Pro SP1), using X2.54. It only manifests itself when UNC names are used to get to the shared resource. When the share is mapped to a drive, the problem doesn't occur.

Probably something to do with the UNC names used :?
Dumb questions are the ones that are never asked :turn:
