Updating the fldr view while traversing directs via panes

If i browse around directories via one of the two panes,
the view on the left side (tree view of directories) doesnt
get updated until I use the shortcut key Alt+T. Is there
a setting somewhere? Also, is there a help file for x2
features? (even a collection of mails/readmes/faqs will do)
I couldn't locate it on the site, which I wish wasn't colored
that way .
