"Skip this directory once" button in search dialog

Post by narayan »

These points may be for v2!

Sometimes, we realize that we forgot to ban a particular directory in or scanning; and now x2 is just scanning forever in that huge directory. We are unable to stop x2 and restart the search because it has already done significant amount of work, and we can't let it go waste.

We can't even start x2 from where we stopped, because that facility is not available.

Some ideas:

1. While x2 is searching in a directory, let user skip that directory. (provide a "Skip this directory once" button).

2. A far more revolutionary idea: let a bar show the entire path of the currently scanned directory. If the user presses any unit in that path (just like how we r-click in the folder pane header to go up), x2 will skip that folder and all its subfolders only for this search.

** If the user restarts the search, the skipped directory will be searched.

3. Allow the user to pauseand restart the search from the paused point.
