I've been adding some nice new features to xplorer2:
* folder tabs
* better file copy

The following link will give you access to the betas:
See the included README.txt file for details on installing and running

www.ps.ic.ac.uk/~umeca74/dbmon.zip (2.3MB)

thanks for your feedback!

I like new tabs!

Tabs. Yet another reason to get addicted to xplorer² ... :)

Great new feature.

Is it possible to move among the tabs using the keyboard, or are we stuck with the mouse for now?

With tabs, x2 in now truly Quadratic! :D

Good work, Nikos.

P.S.
My only dislike of scrap frames is that they open a new window.
Could a future x2 have scrap frames launch in tabs instead?

Great job!
I was expecting impatiently those features for some time :). Now x2 can realy aim to the best file explorer title.

PS: Just an idea: Put numbers in front of tab names like "1: Test @ D:\" and put shortcuts ALT + 1, ALT + 2 to switch directly to the tab (this is how SciTE does).

scraps in tabs is a good idea but difficult to implement

Thanks for the tabs, they're great. A method used for creating new tabs which I find very convenient is by double-clicking in the empty space next to a tab (examples are Opera browser and foobar player). Would it be possible to implement this in x2?

this is easy but not consistent
to start with there are no tabs showing so there's nowhere to click!

Maybe if there was an "Always show tabs" option it would be consistent enough?

isn't that a waste of space though?

just an observation

if you start the 1.0.03 version then try to start the beta version you don't get the folders groups option in the customize menu.

you can't run 2 versions in parallel, unless you use the /P command line switch. otherwise the 2nd copy will run as a new window in the first process
