Open selected folder as new tab in the other pane?

Feature request:

I would love to open a selected folder as a new tab in the other pane. (Maybe with Ctrl+Alt+Ins)

Or is it allready possible!? I didn't found anything about this feature in the manual/board.

this isn't possible at present
alt+enter will open a folder in the active tab of the inactive pane

Yup, viewing contents or transferring files between two tabs in same pane is not as convenient as two tabs in opposite panes. Lot of times even I have faced this need, especially when you want to preserve the open folder in the opposite pane.

I would definitely like to have this feature in future xplorer2 editions. You can count my vote for it

On the similar lines of "Ctrl +I" I would also like to have some option which would let you duplicate the contents of current pane to opposite pane in a new tab. "Ctrl + Alt + I", won’t be applicable here as it copies the content of inactive pane to the active pane. May be for all these tab actions we can have some option in tab context menu, or some other hotkey.

We now have more of such cases since the addition of tabs in Xplorer2. xplorer2 should now scale up to handle all these unhandled needs.

I'll add a vote for this.

In addition to the reasons above:

One of the advantages of the dual pane file manager is psychological: users can see that files have been copied/moved from the active to the passive pane. With the current Tab implementation, users wishing this visual verification need to switch between Tabs in the same pane -- admittedly, not a big deal, but the ability to open Tabs directly in the opposite pane would perhaps be both more intuitive (Ctrl+Alt+Ins beats Tab/Ctrl+Ins/Tab/Alt+Enter) and in keeping with the dual pane paradigm.
