Icon overlays?

Is there a way to make xplorer2 display the icon overlays of TortoiseCVS properly? They indicate whether a local file is different from the repository version. xplorer2 doesn't show them even if I select Normal for icon display instead of Simple. I've tried explorer and another file manager and they're fine.

the only file manager i know that does these cvs overlays is GXExplorer
i am considering adding this feature but it may hit performance ...

I tried SpeedCommander and it worked too :)

I hope you can allow enabling/disabling this feature independently of icon display mode, for example I'd love to see these overlays with Simple mode (so I don't need to wait for all exe icons to load). Or even better, restrict this to certain directories... but maybe I'm asking for too much :p

new alpha build

ok, it's back to alpha!
I've just added an option in Advanced page to turn such custom icon overlays on:

www.ps.ic.ac.uk/~umeca74/dbmon.zip (800K)

please try it and tell me if it works (make sure you check the respective option!)

thanks

Awesome! I'm really looking forward to using this with TortoiseSVN!

Glad to see the Icon overlay feature finally here - excellent news!

I have installed the new 1.2.0.0 version, and have noticed a strange problem with the new feature:

I have both TortoiseCVS and TortoiseSVN installed - Icon overlays show up fine for TortoiseCVS, but are not displayed at all for TortoiseSVN.

This is a little wierd, since both icon sets show up fine in Windows Explorer.

Cheers,

this response straight from Timo Kunze, the guy you need to thank for enabling these overlays in x2:
However, there's a setting "show overlays in Explorer only" in TortoiseSVN, which was introduced to hide the overlays in "Open File" and "Save File" dialogs. If this setting is activated, xplorer2 doesn't show the overlays anymore. IMHO this is the correct behavior, but obviously some people don't think so.
