Ctrl-Enter in addressbar

Post by wasker »

Please confirm or deny the reproduction of the problem.

Initial position: cursor on the file "Filename" on any file panel.

Keys pressed:
[Shift-Tab]$lame[Space][Ctrl-Enter]

Result:
Filename[CURSOR]$lame[SPACE]

Expected:
$lame[SPACE]Filename[CURSOR]

I also uploaded a Flash movie: http://www.bytegems.com/x2/

Looks like I'm alone. :(
Guys, do you have some debug mode or debug build for such problems?

No, I don't use any skinning apps.

I'll post debug info a bit later, thanks for the link.

I reproduced the behavior that wasker described.
The filename inserted at the beginning of address bar instead of where the cursor was.

Win2k sp5 PIII 500Mhz x2 pro.

looks like you've got something common installed
check your dll list within x2's space (with process explorer) for common modules

Re: Ctrl-Enter in addressbar

Post by Brig »

I have a question that's tangential to the issue at hand. I tried this

    [Shift-Tab]$lame[Space][Ctrl-Enter]

and got the expected result

    $lame[SPACE]Filename[CURSOR]

but I'm wondering what the purpose of this command is--why would I want to put the filename up in the address bar? Obviously I don't use the address bar for anything, but maybe I should.

Thanks.

It's a command line. When you're running some command, you will probably want to supply it with some data from file. To not to type the file name, you can select it on the pane and press Ctrl-Enter.
