True tree item highlighting...

Post by TsunamiZ »

Please highlight items in the folder tree in true Windows fashion [i.e. colored box], instead of the bold text approach.  This will make seeing highlighted items in the tree a lot easier.  The current bold text only approach is too hard to see.  Thanks.

But the colored box does follows the selected item - even in he treepane.
However for a treepane item to be 'selected' it must have focus --
which is achieved with Ctrl+Tab or by click in a blank area of the treepane.
However, focus won't stay there very long if you have the option selected for "Single click to change focus and "hands free" activation" ;)
(on Tools | Options... | Window menu)

The difference that I see is that x2 uses boldface type (vs. gray background) to highlight current folder.  Perhaps nikos might add this as a user preference some day.  Personally, I don't see any missing functionality the way it is.

If Windows Explorer can do this, why can't xplorer2 also do this to enhance selected folder visibility? There isn't really a need to remove the tree highlighting when the tree is not in focus.

BTW: The highlighting may be gray on your computer, but it is an easy-to-see blue on mine.  I guess I use a different XP theme.
