Option to remove extra folder system icons...

Post by TsunamiZ »

Please add an option to remove extra folder system icons [i.e. the extra systems icons in the desktop folder and network places folder].  Thanks.

BTW: The Internet Explorer icon doesn't sort properly in the desktop folder.  It should be properly grouped with the other system icons.

It currently can do that, but in a strange way.

- go to desktop folder
- turn on dual pane
- turn into same folder
- activate new pane
- turn off dual pane

Now the folder temporarily doesn't display the system icons for the desktop.

But is there a way to have this "no system icons" display as an option?  Thanks.

ok what you see is the difference between "my desktop" root folder and "c:\...\desktop". They are 2 different folders that's why they have slightly different content

you can set a bookmark straight on c:\docs..\user\desktop

BTW: The Internet Explorer icon doesn't sort properly by name [like with the other system icons in the desktop folder].  I currently have sorting set to "unsorted" in that folder to get it to properly sort with the other system icons.  :?

But how can I do that when they're the exact same address?  :?

they don't have the same address
browse c:\...\desktop (type its path in the addressbar) and set a bookmark there

Thanks!

But how do I fix this issue regarding the "my network places" folder?  Can I bookmark anything to fix that?

I notice my trick doesn't work for network places.  Do you know what to bookmark?  Or is there no way around this one?  :?

Well, Windows Explorer doesn't display these icons.   Don't know why they can't be removed from view in xplorer2.  :?
