sytem settings problem - saving/importing registry

Post by joeking »

I recently had this problem

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;307545

Question:
How do I save/import all the previous settings I had?

I maybe looking at the wrong place but this
http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?t=35 ... t=settings
doesn't work. I cannot get actions/export as a menu item.
I have 1.1.0.3 [Unicode] xplorer2 pro version.
I can't find my previous user commands.

It would be really nice if I could just have 1 file to import and 1 file to export. I'd like to just click a button and save all settings.
The registry is not the place to save this info (or is it?).
Because of the system problem the registry was totally screwed/renewed.
(Save registry next time right?)

The good news is that your wish for a single file to store your settings was granted back in March, 2005 with version 1.2.0.0  :)

The bad news seems to be that you have not kept up with the latest releases (now up to 1.4.0.1).  :o

If you did not manually save your registry settings before the problem you report, then you may need to recreate your commands from scratch. :(

As a longshot you might try browsing the registry with regedit to see if you can find anything recognizable in keys under  HKCU\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\xplorer2_UC...

Thanks for the reply.
I now have version 1.4.0.1 [Unicode].
I have created/exported my settings to the .reg file. This saved it to the program folder.
