Silk skin (by ZoNi) - FIRST(?) skin for xplorer2 ;-)

Try this skin and say what you think! (Just have in mind it is version 0.5, therefore not finished!)

Enjoy!

our hero! :)
how come your black-and-white bitmap is larger than the color one? I bet you have it full color? The original one is 16 bit.

tnx :D

I have no idea why is it so - XnView shows it is only 16 color image... Well, I will try to fix that for next versions ;)

You're welcome, ckit!

Small "update": here is version 0.5c - inactive icons are in color, but crossed! Someone may like this more (I know I do, cause I don't like BW icons!).

Thanks, 2x!

I like the colour idea but I hate the crosses.
Lose the crosses and make the colours of in-actives 50% opacity!

Just outta curiosity, what do I do with the file - just extract it to the default X2 dirs?  will it work with the Betas?  Did you write the skin from scratch?

I know, lotsa questions - but I want to quickly get on board and get a nice skin going based upon the crystal icon set....they have always been my fav icons....

Did you look into the zip files you downloaded? There is an info.txt file which states what you must do. And that was easy.

Nikos, thanks for this "skinning" option and ZoNi, I like both icon sets. Were you the first?

But now there is a new problem. The procedure for switching skins is not nice. It would be easier to have multiple sets and switch on the fly. Something for the wish list?

since we only have the one set at present, there's no point worrying about switching!

Zoni delivered two sets. 0.5 and 0.5c. I'm trying them both to decide which to use and that raised the problem.

to change a skin you'd have to replace the 2 bitmap files and restart x2. One day we could have this process automated

Well, here is my try! :) I am not very good with graphics, and I guess it is complicated to work with such small icons (especially that they were converted from semi transparent PNG's!), but this may be not so bad!

(this is only BW version, not "full" skin)

Guess I was! :) As I already told here, I am NOT graphic master (I am graphic newbie, actually), but I wanted to be the first for two reassons:
1. To be the first - I think every man wants that
2. To "force" someone with much more skills to make even better skins (and this was the main reason).

If someone like what I did with Mark's icons, than I am super happy! If not - well, we'll have to wait for better skins (Mark's icons are great, but they were PNG...).

We must ask Nikos to use PNG instead of BMP

Ah, not important enough......

The icons look good, but can you post a complete set in a ZIP file instead of one BMP file? Whatever I try for combination, the buttons are inconsistent. Espacially the buttons for back and forward are not correct in behaviour. The change and not only the color. They change from dark round to pointy arrow in green?
