Yes, I'd like to associate VLC or The KMPlayer. Both come with a lot of extra codecs. Then there's the external codec pack called K-lite Mega pack, which enables both of them to play almost anything.

sorry, each player has it's own I/O protocol but xplorer2 only knows to talk to WMP.

Some flvs still don't play. I didn't update ffdshow though, I have an older version that works fine and I've learned to mess as little as possible with working codecs.

BTW, even KMPlayer refuses to play all flvs these days, I recommend Bitcomet flv player for those.

I wonder if someone would enlarge on this statement?
"The registry value szVideoExtList holds such custom extensions. The easiest way to change it is to use the external registry settings editor and set this value from the global property page. To find it go to Start > All programs > xplorer2 and start "Advanced settings"."
"this value" What value? "to find it" what is "It"?
"external registry settings editor" use the registry editor to do something to the external registry? or is there a editor known as "external registry settings editor"?

the easier solution to play FLVs nowadays is to make sure you have the latest codec pack and your windows media player (and latest xplorer2 version) will do the playing without any complex registry editing on your part

Please, if you find such FLV, send me link (or FLV itself) to test it in PotPlayer :)
