Check Boxes in Folder Pane?

Post by Ardax »

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add check boxes to the file pane

The reason I'm asking is because I'm using a Tablet PC running Win 7 RC.  (Soon to be RTM).  When I'm using the stylus, having the checkboxes available in the file list is very handy for doing complex selections without using the keyboard.  Or when the keyboard is completely unavailable, such as when I'm running in Slate Mode.

Middle-clicking isn't an option because, well, it's not possible to do with the stylus :), and tapping checkboxes is the most efficient way to do some types of complex selections.

Just make yourself a button for sticky selection and activate it with the stylus before selecting files.

That's what I do on my tablet for more complex selections.

Sticky Selection doesn't work on Vista or 7.

yes sorry about that, not my fault really
in that case without mouse to help you then it's down to control+arrows to move for careful selection. Also INS key to select and move down

Well, that's why I was hoping for the checkboxes.  If I'm using the tablet in slate mode, there's no keyboard available.  I'm not sure how well the on-screen keyboard would work.
