Adding settings from WinXP x86 into Win7 x64 xplorer2 64?

Anyone know how I can add the exported .reg settings from WinXP x86 into Win7 x64 xplorer2 64? On my first try adding the settings, I noticed I lost my bookmarks and file color codings settings. Is there any way I can upgrade the .reg to make it work correctly?

make sure you are not running xplorer2 when you import the REG file in the new PC

i did close x2 before adding the .reg settings via regular windows explorer. i still get this problem. any ideas?

for the bookmarks it is understandable as some of the folders may not exist in the new computer. Try first deleting the registry information in the new computer (under HKCU\software\zabarakatranemia plc) then import your settings

the bookmarks point to folders that exist on my 2nd hdd which is still the same. so its not caused by missing folders. my file color coding settings also dont import.

i just tried first deleting the registry information in the new computer (under HKCU\software\zabarakatranemia plc) then import settings but still doesn't work. btw: i noticed that the items under that category had both xplorer2_64 and xplorer2_UC items. the imported settings adds xplorer2_UC--perhaps needs to be called xplorer2_64 to work correctly? any idea on how i can upgrade the .reg to work?

there is no xplorer2_64 registry key, where did you find that?
can you give me an example of a color coding rule that won't import?

nevermind on the xplorer2_64 keys then, that must have been added by my own tinkering.

none of my bookmarks or custom file color coding were able to import. theyre pretty basic. here's a copy and paste of the file color coding sections from my .reg file.

for bookmarks, all i see are the samples ones. for color coding all i see is the default 'encrypted files' one. so basically none of that was imported. would be great if there is a way to modify my .reg file to import properly into my 64 bit install. any ideas?

so all the other options are imported successfully or nothing is imported?

i tried the color filters you pasted and they were imported fine
as i said, first delete the old registry key then import

open regedit after you import and see what is under this key
HKCU\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\xplorer2_UC.global\ColorCode Attributes

make sure you are not running xplorer2 as some other elevated user

i havent checked extensively but it seems other settings are imported fine, just not bookmarks and color codings for me.

i exit x2, deleted HKCU\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc, and reimport the .reg. just tried it again.

after importing, i checked and saw my items were imported seemingly fine into HKCU\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\xplorer2_UC.global\ColorCode Attributes. but after opening x2 and checking in the program, the color codings and bookmarks aren't there. and after i exit x2, the registry attributes also reverted back to defaults for color coding and bookmarks.

my win7 account is admin. any ideas?

are you using the unicode version of xplorer2? Check what it says in Help > About

when i manually add in a color coding property in x2, it saves properly even after exit. and then i repeated the reimporting process. the registry shows the new properties added from the .reg, but after i open x2, only my manually added property exists. after i exit x2, the registry reverts back to the default and my manually added property only.

i also shut off my antivirus internet security during the process to make sure it wasnt causing problems, but it didnt fix it. any ideas?
