sort of beta build 1803

Post by nikos »

www.zabkat.com/xplorer2_UC.zip (700kb)
that's 32 bit release without installer, with a changelog
basically it fixes vista/7 warts and adds the missing columns

please try it with TSVN, audioshell or other column extensions (there used to be tons pre-vista but then MS dropped them; now hopefully they will be revived)

also there are a few new hires toolbar skins that work with the new version:
1. saboteur
2. office

any problems let me know and email me the crash minidump (Help > Crash information menu)

cheers!

ctrl+alt+shift+H just gives me the "CPU cannot make sense of the last input" error

running new beta on W7 Home Premium 64-bit
I have not changed any keyboard shortcuts.

yep, 1.8.0.3

I don't get an error dialog... just the error in status line and a beep.

are you using any translations? See Customize > Keyboard > Miscellaneous for a command with number 33163

this shortcut is a handful but you have to press ALL the buttons at the same time <ctrl+alt+shift+H>. You can change this key or put it on a toolbar with menuhack

I don't see a command number 33163 under Customize > Keyboard > Miscellaneous. Perhaps that's the problem!

AudioShell: Works fine!
TSVN: Same, it seems.

Both on Vista x86.

Good job, nikos.

at least one person can run the new version! :)

i'm glad it works, i put a lot of effort in it, but give it a good workout e.g. use these [X] columns for searching criteria for example and see what happens

if everything goes to plan we should start a campaign to let all people that miss the old style explorer columns that there's now a solution!

if admin is grayed it means that you already are running as administrator

why the hidden files shortcut doesn't work? I don't have a clue! Try following these instructions and add a user command through menuhack for the command 33163. Does it work? (click twice)

Fair enough - I am running as Administrator.

Status bar "Pane contents have been refreshed ok". Hidden files were enabled.

Status bar "Show hidden files enabled".

Good old snakebyte!

I have no problem with the new function. I have used Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H and seen the changes and also used MenuHack with the same results. But I do have another problem.

There is a missing icon in the drivebar toolbar. Below is a screenshot. It worked on the previous version.

I am not using any translations but I do not see a 33163 command in  Customize > Keyboard > Miscellaneous

Using MenuHack with the toggle hidden command does work.

The Administrator command in Windows menu also works.

The system junctions are working with the new beta as well... clicking on the junctions sends me to the target folder and shortcut to displays the target folder.
