Windows Assembly Folder

Post by shawnhevel »

Using the professional version, I navigate to c:\WINDOWS\assembly and all I don't see anything.  If I navigate to the same directory using Windows Explorer, I see all of the assemblies that are installed on my machine.  Is there a something I have to set in order to all of the assemblies.

Thanks,

x2 being C++ is sabotaging .NET :)
actually this folder advertises itself as 'nonenumerated' so x2 stays out. I remember I had problems with it (infinite recursion)

So what you are saying is I will have to resort to Windows Explorer for this folder?

You can also try View > Raw View from menu for this folder. It will show you the actual internal folder structure of the GAC. I find this feature useful if I want to copy an assembly off this folder.

Unfortunately RAW View option does not stick if you try to navigate up in folder hierarchy. Not sure if it is a bug in X2.
