adobe X a step backwards

Post by nikos »

i tried the latest adobe reader X on windows XP and it looks like the text filter doesn't work. Thumbnails ok, draft text preview/search not good

does anybody have any experience with it on later windows eg 7? (32 bit)

I can't see neither thumbs nor Quick Preview/Native (shows gray panel). Draft Preview shows hex dump.

Windows 7 x64.
I'm using Xplorer2 - the only file manager that does not suck. Actually, it rocks!

some good news. You can get native PDF preview working with adobe X if you turn off the new protected mode:

(in Reader X)
Edit->Preferences->General->uncheck "Enable Protected Mode At Startup"
