Wimde? Ah, you mean me, Wim. "de" is part of my last name and correctly spelled it is "de Lange" and if you want to look me up in the phone guide you must look under L. Yeah, I'm Dutch.
And about the closing problem, it was back tomorrow and had no time to research it. Now I've time and it is gone again. And as far as I know, I've not changed anything since this morning.

No problem, the mistake is made often.fuxs wrote: erm, Wim, sorry. I imagined you are Dutch and the concept of 'de' or 'von' in German is not uncommon to me...
It seems I was in a hurry finishing my post before starting something else...
Do you work with network drives?
I do work with network drives a lot at work. UNC and mapped, but I could not find any relation with that. I guess it is a specific program that I'm using, but I don't have a clue yet which. And under W7 64 bits the interaction should not be too high.

Ah, glad you found it, networks as guessed...nikos wrote:this beta has a nasty bug
please stop using it because it crashes a lot (networks, removable media etc)
Sorry I overread your questions at the end of the former page; there seems to be no need of translating the crash address any more now.
But for the record: No mini dumps in %temp% to be found here for this beta. Obviously no crash (did not matter if happened during app close or within ordinary usage) has been logged.

No problem with patience, the risk of running alpha en beta's.nikos wrote:there will be one some time next week with the new key system
funnily enough the alpha version 181.12 doesn't crash but that doesn't have the docking panels
patience
btw, I thought that the latest alpha had docking panels, but there was this problem with the floating panel that sometimes goes off screen when switching from dual monitor to single monitor.

It reached the point with me where I would add sound affects when this beta xplorer² would crash...
Just going along, then I'd double-click a Network Directory, and... BOOM!... Just a glorious, sudden, instant crash. Gone in a split-second, too quick to see.
And yet, the xplorer² process would still be running.
Glad I exported xsettings.reg before I installed this beta... Reverting, and waiting...

Ah, that was not what you said the first time (I missed the statement you are referring too). Reinstalled directly the beta and disabled background threading.nikos wrote:if you are browsing networks/cds/usbs xplorer2 corrupts its own memory. Only solution would be to disable background threading as i said above
