The OmniFinder sometimes ignores the current location of the active pane; and launches the search in a different place.
Two examples:
If the current location is D:\, and if I press CTRL+F, the OmniFinder shows some path in D drive (but not the root).
If I launch a search in C:\Program Files\Util, the Look in field shows a subfolder of this folder. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Util\Google SketchUp 8\Plugins).
One remarkable finding is, x2 repeatedly searches in these two particular locations, rather than randomly changing the search domain.
However, if I drill down and launch the search in a subfolder, it searches as expected.
Happens in Windows XP (SP-3) and 7 both.
Omnifinder ignores the current location in the folder pane

This might be a clue.
Path is C:\Downloads\PV\Current with no sub-directories.
Ctrl+F searches C:\Downloads\PV\Current
backspace, path is now C:\Downloads\PV with sub-directories
Ctrl+F searches C:\Downloads\PV
backspace again and Ctrl+F searches C:\Downloads\September\26
I don't know if the backspacing from a directory with a sub-directory is anything to do with it. I've reproduced it with several similar situations.

I've seen this issue before, but it always seemed to happen randomly. I just tried to reproduce it to no avail. Irritating :/nikos wrote:it doesn't happen to me but i'll try to reproduce it somehow
