I have no doubt that there's some deep dark subliminal psychological reason that you (almost) named her after a Sex Psychologist, but hey, there's no message there, really.  Whatever floats your boat.

(At least it'll stop you from posting pictures of that bloody cat for awhile.)

Oh yeah, "Congratulations", and all that obligatory social-graces jazz. :D

Remember these three phrases, they will come in useful in a few years:

1.  "No"
2. "Because I said so"

and, most importantly...

3. "Ask your mother"

Thanks!
And pretty cool about the Kinsey thing.  My wife has a masters in psych, so she may have actually gotten the name from there and forgotten the source.  :)

Ex post facto ponderings on the wisdom of marrying someone with a masters in psych...
  • They are, by default, smarter than you
  • They are, by default, more likely to have "everything in life" analysed before you can even pronounce the first syllable of "beerbelly"
  • They usually like to hyphenate their last names upon marriage as a "professional thing", regardless of how you feel about it
  • They tend to win arguments just by looking at you with a stern glance
  • They tend to have your next 20 years all planned out by the time you pronounce the second syllable of "beerbelly"
Are any of these positives?  Or is it just written in the stars and all was lost at first sight?

Actually we both have masters in psych...  We met carpooling in gradschool.  But yes, your list is still pretty much accurate.

Congratulations for now (and condolences for later.)
Enjoy the occasional months of indescribable cuteness when they appear. With any luck, they will be more than just punctuation marks along the journey of raising her and, dare I predict, her siblings.

Thanks for the kind words All,
Yea, she's our first.  Likely our last as well (I'm 41 and the wife is 42).

Tired of using firewalls...  Likely will have my modem unplugged.
