Export listing of dir to text file, possible?

Post by Telemacus »

I was wondering whether it was possible to export the list of contents of a directory with Xplorer without having to resort to the MSDOS command line dir /b /s > c:\file_name.txt (or whatever).

Essentially typing "> $>" into the addressbar (or making it a useful user-command toolbar button) will open the current active pane's selected contents in your default editor - or just use Edit -> Copy Columns <Ctrl+P>, if you wish a little more detail, though that one only copies to the clipboard.

A more detailed explanation as to how/why the first one works may be referenced on page 286 of the most recent full manual.
