To be fair, the national anthem just uses the first two stanzas as set to music, not the full text. Interestingly, Wikipedia says it's been played at the closing ceremonies of every (modern) Olympic games, as a tribute. Which might also explain why no one ever watches the closing ceremony.

Though I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the x2 developmental-pacing implications...
