I used xplorer2 on my XP platform and i was really satisfied
but i tried to install it on a new vista vaio laptop and since then i have plroblems! xplorer2 starts normally but when i start doing some file copying it crashes all the time saying:
x2 explorer has stop working
it a pity really cause i dont wont to change a file manager

Hi evkefalas@,
Welcome to the board!
1st - oops on me, I moved the topic to the Lite forum because of your comment about that being what you had been using.
However v1.7x does not have a Lite version yet, so I think your issue is with the [Pro] trial version? No?
Please clarify for us.
2nd - regarding Vista - there are a few compatibility issues with that OS.
The new x² v1.7 has worked out some of them, but likely it will be a while before all issues are reported and addressed. Please do report what you find so any new issues can be added to the queue.
Thanks,
-Fred-

another guy who mentioned this to me found that it crashes with drag-drop but it is ok with "robust copy" <F5>.

can you do a last small check for me? Download this test executable:
www.zabkat.com/dropDlg.exe (it's only 20 KB)
Drag a small file from your desktop or anywhere else, over the little target sign on the dialog window, and drop it. It should move to the folder whose path is typed in the the edit box below
does this crash too?

can you give me some more details?
1. i take it that the crash occurs when you drop the files (? please confirm)
2. what about if you drag items from your desktop (outside x2) into a folder shown by xplorer2? Crash?
3. (reverse of 2) what if you drag items from within x2 and drop them on your desktop (outside x2)
i have a suspicion, with your answers 1-3 above i may be able to offer a patch
thanks
ps does xyplorer show images (representing the selection) while dragging?

my suspicion was correct then! can you download and try this debug version:
www.zabkat.com/dbmon.zip
you need to run "kenny.exe", but first quit all other x2 instances, delete the old registry info (uninstall if you don't know which keys to delete), and then run this kenny. You'll have to click ignore a few times to clear some assertion messages. Then you try drag-drop: does it work? (I disabled the drag images by default)
which vista is it that you have, "home"?
