Opening files/folders into x² via the/a contextmenu ...

Post by AEN007 »

Greetings.

Sometimes I use one or another (freeware) search utility; for example» Ctrl-F
I have also tweaked my XP contextmenu (CM) extensively; e.g.,» Open++
I recently found out about the x² bSingleWindow (bSW) setting
when I was trying to configure my search utilities
to open search results into x².
At first I had the main x² layout/window open.
These settings are in the xplorer2 subkey.
bSW settings 1 & 2 would open search results into the open x² window;
so I added the bSW setting to the registry entries
for the other half a dozen x² layouts I have/use.
I thought I was finished with that project.

Later - when I had 1 x² window open, but not the main xplorer2 layout -
I discovered that the CM entries would always launch the main xplorer2 layout
and would not open search results into the already open "other" x² layout.
(This issue is also relevant to another thread» multiple views)
Is there any way to have search results opened into an already open x² window that is not the main xplorer2 layout?
bSingleWindow does not.

It seems fairly easy to tweak the registry
to make some "other" xplorer2 layout the main xplorer2 layout.
I added the bLiteWarning DWORD entry to each layout.
After years & years of always/only using the horizontal layout,
I have just disovered the benefits of the vertical layout.
I created a new view and then tweaked the reg to make it the main xplorer2 layout.
I also have another half dozen or so views
that I wish I could utilize in the same x² window ...
