For those Stalwarts who use Resource Hacker...

Post by Kilmatead »

As (unfortunately) ResHacker went out of development a few years ago (despite being the de rigueur standard for underground editors), the last beta (3.5.2) still contained a few annoyances.

Thankfully, an enterprising user [RaMMicHaeL] has released a small patch which, while modest, does at least modernise at least a few elements (like the Load/Save modals), and a few other small details.  You can find it at Resource Hacker FX.

If nothing else, respect is due as your man wrote the mod directly into ResHacker using an assembler.  All these high-level languages available these days have done nothing but just made developers soft.  Back when men were men, and mnemonics were the way of things (API?, WTF's an API?), the world was a better (if more inscrutable) place.  So says my charming memory anyway.

For those interested, ResHacker FX has received an update in line with the recent ResHacker v3.6.0.92 release.  For those who use ResHacker (for whatever reason), this "fixer" is recommended as it smooths out the edges of the rough hewn stone.
