isn't that a waste of space though?
Well, not really, if the user intends to use tabs any way.

On the other hand, if the user never intends to use tabs, he can save space.

If saving space is really a concern, x2 should have a Program Option to hide Tab Bar when there is a single tab.

Another thing that would be nice is middle click to open in a new tab.

I keep getting a crash when I try to view one of my drives with the beta.

It worked fine with the old version, and works fine in explorer.

this is what dbmon said:

Code: Select all

a few people have been bitten from that
from now on you'll have to use Edit | Duplicate for this feature
from keyboard: Alt+E, D

I don't belive that, disabled copy+paste?
Nikos, again the old thema about do not overwrite our mind :)
Ok, a few people have been bitten from that... but what is with another people?
If you add a new registry entry like : ENABLE_COPY_PASTE_IN_THE_SAME_DIRECTORY=TRUE/FALSE

will be very nice!

copy/paste wasn't disabled of course, it got "upgraded"
now paste uses the robust transfer
the downside is you can't get the quick ctrl+C/V combo
a minor training course will be required :)

ps a few translations are already available for .95
if you download the latest beta from the website it contains DLLs for the following languages: german, spanish, italian and bulgarian. These are beta too, so keep an eye open for problemos, thanks!

exactly this is the problem, I use xplorer² Professional because I like to do operations quickly. And now I need the training for copy+paste, that is not quickly. Is here any sense?

ALT+E,D is faster than CTRL+C/V in that it is only three keystrokes while CTRL+C/V is four keystrokes. So for every three copy/pastes (in the same directory) using CTRL+C/V, you get four copy/pastes using ALT+E,D.

Four duplications in the time of three! Surely this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Yes, a staggering 25% saving!!

Not to mention that if you do the CTRL+C/V elsewhere (other than the same folder) you get the benefit of the far superior Robust Transfer!

people, I'm not against that you will use any key for any operation
I'm against that me and other people MUST use nonstandard, your favorite way.

longfellow, for you ALT+E,D is faster than CTRL+C/V, ok, but not for other people.

Also I'm not against new Robust Transfer. Seems to be faster then standard transfer procedure.

the best solution, as always is customizing.
ENABLE_COPY_PASTE_IN_THE_SAME_DIRECTORY=TRUE/FALSE

and all people are happy!
