I can't create a tab

Post by tomtom »

Hi,
I've just installed the 1.1.0.1 update in German and a have a problem. I can't create a tab. If I click Alt+Insert nothing happens, and I can't find File>New Tab.
Probably it's my fault  , but could somebody please help me?

Thanks, Tom

Where did you get "Alt+insert" from?

The actual command is "Ctrl+insert".

it should be the third menu item in File menu (the first one)
don't know how it is translated
could there be a translation error mentioning Alt instead of the correct Ctrl for accelerator key?

@vserghi - Yes, certainly, you're correct... my error (because my german keyboard says "Strg") ...it desn't work nevertheless.

@nikos - the third menu item is "open recursiv" (Shft+Enter), there is no "new tab". I was thinking that maybe I have the wrong version??
My Info says "1.1.0.1 [Unicode]"

Thanks, Tom

I had the same problem with an earlier version and it was because I still had the old language dll. Try deleting it and reinstalling.

In my version it works. You should find "Neuer Tab" in the menu.

Dear BRX, thanks a lot!!  :D
It works exactly as you mentioned! Now I have my "Neuer Tab",
and I can use this nice feature too!

now i get it
the old german dll had a different name
if you just install the new version without uninstalling the old one you end up with 2 language dlls in the same folder, and the old one is located first

so the advice is, either install v1.1 in a new folder or uninstall v1.0 first

... or increase the intelligence of the (now) rudimentary installer to remove the older dll(s) -- perhaps renaming to .dll_old
