One of my favorite features of xplorer² pro is the autofilter. As much as I like it, however, I have one major complaint:
When you are using autofilter in a directory with a large number of filetypes, the particular file type that you are interested can be hard to find. This is because the filterlist is defined by the arrangement of files in the directory. File types would be easier to find if the list were sorted by extension. Even sorting by file type name (i.e. C++ header file) would be preferred to the current operation.
I realize that you can sort by by type, and then autofilter, but this is a cumbersome hack IMO, because you have to set the "arrange by", select your autofilter, and then restore the "arrange by".
Additionally, I think that the autofilter button should be depressed when actively filtering. This would give the user a better impression that he/she is in the mode, if he/she forgets.
Any feedback on these suggestions are welcome.
Suggestion: Sort autofilter results
