Req. Simple Tab Names

Post by ckit »

I'd like to have an option in xplorer2's Advanced Editor to enable "simple or short tab names"

eg. C:\Downloads would called "Downloads" and NOT "Downloads @ C:\"

Thanks anyway!
ckit.

you know there's a tooltip over each tab that gives the full path, right?

Yes, I'm aware of it not sure what it has to do with what I'm requesting though.

did you try
r-click on tab > rename ?
Then the tab name stays fixed & doesn't change with where you browse.

Yes, I've done that for both left and right panes and re-saved the Folder Groups. I was just hoping that xplorer2 could be smart enough to do the renaming automatically for any future tabs that I open.

It sounds like you must not have many same-named folders on different drives if dropping the @drive:\ from the tab name is what you want. :o

And I would dearly love to have an option to make the window title equal the full path name:  "G:\Start Menu Work\Programs", for example, not "Programs @ G:\".

I am sitting here, now, as I often am, with multiple explorer windows open looking at different folders in different hierarchies on the same disk.  So I have two explorer windows open, both saying "Programs @ G:\", but pointing me to completely different places.  This has caused me to make errors in the past.

I know that the full path is shown within the window, in the bar above the file pane, but what is blatant and visible to me is the window title.  Duplicate names for different folders makes ALT+TAB very difficult.

(But Xplorer2's still much better than the competition anyway.)
