0.0.0.29 Pb creating Files or Folders

Post by deframondj »

Hi all,
I am unable to create new files or folders inside a folder with the S attribute set.
Is there a specific registry key to set ?

this is a "feature" of the present version
most of the folders in the windows directory that have the system attribute set are "weird" so they are not considered part of the filesystem by x2, that's why the create file/folder commands are disabled

i'll have to think of something else here

which folder are you trying to use?

Any folder as I am using the feature that allows to change the icon associated with a folder, by changing its attribute to S then adding a file desktop.ini within the folder with the path to the icon to use.

yes, that's a problem with the present x2, I'll deal with it shortly
in the meantime you can use the command line to create folders by typing in the addressbar something like:

$ mkdir "new folder"

Yes, I already found that I could contourn the problem.
I was just wondering if there was a supervisor vs user mode allowing to deal with "protected" stuff

Thanks anyway for a realy nice piece of software. I'll keep testing it any way I can.
