Hmm... it appears I might need a 3rd LCD now...

And, um, not to be picky, but shouldn't "locked" tabs survive switching betwixt single-pane and dual-pane views?  Sort of defeats the definition of "locked", no?

And you just added this stuff so you could use the alliterative "lock dock" term, didn't you?  Catchy.

Preview pane doesn't seem to automatically take well to real-time resizing in Native view, but it's easy enough to reset.

And weirdly, the Mini-scrap pane decided to have the god-awful grid lines drawn when first floated, though they were off by default.  Needed to switch them On then Off again to get it to stick.

Ok, two questions:

1. Why is the keygen not included?
2. How do I mark folders like you do? (I've read the changes log, didn't find anything related to that)

EDIT: actually I think that kind of folder marking isn't done with xplorer2.

1. The Keygen is a hidden file in the download - you couldn't find it?  All my mates loved it...
2. Romanians aren't allowed to use overlays to mark folders anymore, you have to learn to wean yourself off your national obsession.  It'll be difficult at first, but you'll get used to it.

If there are locked tabs on the second pane, then the user switches to "Single-Pane View" as often happens, upon returning to Dual-Pane view, the tabs in the second pane are gone (including locked ones).  Technically, as all the user is doing is switching "views" not actually modifying anything in the second pane, it should re-appear in the same state as it was "hidden".  I might understand you rationalising this with normal tabs ("Well, you see Judge, the Class: ATL:ExplorerFrame is actually destroyed, so I can't keep that info..."), but not with locked ones.

Yeah, thought I've seen those somewhere else before, that's when I decided to edit my post.

Is item highlighting going to be implemented as you planned earlier?
nikos wrote:the idea is to provide a generic marking (not just for folders) and not a permanent one (not an icon change).
I personally don't mind if if you don't want to add it anymore. User commands go perfectly with what Kilmatead has in store for us, but I'm thinking others might still be interested in having at their disposal a lightweight form of item highlighting.

Nonetheless I was only referring to folders. Temporary (and even permanent) file highlighting would be an interesting feature to play with.

As those sorts of "you are now dismissed" overtones always invite suggestions anyway, I'll point out that it'd be kind of nice to be able to dock things between the dual panes as well (a handy place to put the tree, for example), rather than just the four edges.  My mouse has small legs and gets tired from running from one edge of the screen to the other.  Be kind to rodents, Ratatouille isn't just a film.

"ReleaseCheapo" -- LOL!
I'm using Xplorer2 - the only file manager that does not suck. Actually, it rocks!

I kind of like that new feature of having x2's menu items in the shell menu, however the way it is implemented now is very clumsy. For starters, "Organize" must be at the very bottom of the sub-menu, as it's not that important. But main peeve is that I'd prefer to have those commands on the same level, as shell menu commands, without having me making an extra click. I understand that sub-menu lets you have more items in the menu without growing the shell menu indefinitely, but it really is not comfortable to use as it is right now.

Small issues:

1. When I bring the floating panes to the left side, a flashing rectangle snaps to the WHOLE left column, instead of where the pane is going to snap. For example, if the tree and MS are already there, and I want to place the QV between them, I don't get the proper indication where it will snap to. (But it does move up/down when I drag-n-drop it upward/downward.)

2. In the Native mode, the CTRL+mousewheel scroll zooms the display in/out. Would it be possible to have that feature in Draft mode also?

3. In the previous version, the application (e.g. Acrobat pdf reader) itself appeared inside the QV (including the controls at the top). Now only the document appears. (Reporting for Win 7). Is that the intended effect?

1. that's how the docking works. YOu get partial feedback of the dock location but if you are near the top of the window it will go to the top, and vice versa for the bottom

2. I don't know how this is achieved, probably the new previewer

3. the adobe native previewer was totally buggy, the new version of strict preview (no editing) is much better and stable

Problem with floating windows and dual screens. When I dragged the "How do I?" to my other screen, leave xplore2r, removed my extra monitor and started xplorer2, it was not possible for me to go to the floating window, that was somewhere off screen.
So probably extra code is needed somewhere to check if all floating windows are in the visible area? (during window repaint events?)

[Later]
Experimented some more... And I can enable it and disable this "How do I?" pane, but it is not possible to activate it only using the keyboard, so the Alt-Space  M trick for starting Move is not possible on this floating pane off screen.
