Is this possible: I would like to set "fixed" ARRANGE BY in one tab?

For example, normally I use Arrange by > Name, but I would like that one tab can always show Arrange by > Date.

per tab settings are fixed but only for the duration of xplorer2 run. When you quit/restart the 'dominant' tab (what was selected at the time you closed xplorer2) passes on its settings to everybody

That simple fact (undocumented until now, AFAIR) is good to know.

It explains why my unspecified view style folders sometimes surprise* me by coming up in other than my default details view.

* that is, if I'm having a good day; otherwise my reaction is more negative.

it's annoying at times.

these are the type of quirks that could be ironed out and made available through gui options or eradicated.

if only i could do this ish for you i would...

the simple solution is not to quit xplorer2! I leave a window running throughout successive boots, which could be weeks or months!

That's the reason I usually use different layouts instead of changing the view/columns in my main x2 layout, which I prefer to keep in list mode.
