Time frame for release of X2 3.0?

Post by prr »

Can anyone comment on when 3.x will be released--even in general terms, like 6 months, a year, 18 months?

Reason why I'm asking--if I pay for a license for 2.x, I'd hate to see 3.0 get released in the next month, that's all.

I'm assuming that the free upgrades for a year are for upgrades for the version that I buy. In other words, if I buy 2.0 right now, I get free upgrades to 2.1, 2.2, etc., but not an upgrade to a new version such as 3.0. Or is that not the case?

As I understand it, if 3.0 were to come out in less than a year (which I doubt), it would be free to you as a new licensee within that period.
Don't forget that there's always the option of also buying the free lifetime upgrade assurance, which would cover you for *all* future upgrades, whenever they are released.

That's a nice way to put it.

Thanks for the replies. I get the impression that 2.x will be around for a while.  :D

I wonder what it will be like anyway, given that v2 spent it a new GUI.

I imagine that by 2018 we'll have our own personal robot butlers.  I think x2 v3 will be a robot butler.

And probably a butler with 4 hands. Twice as much as a normal butler. Like the panes.....? ;-)

I assume that's on the basis that there's not enough data for an exponential projection ;)

@kunkel321 - by 2018 most of us be debt slaves living in caves - unless of course you're one of the Giant Squid's (aka Goldin Sacks) chosen few.

Commiserations to any who their dough in Dexia, MF Global or Snoras - try cowrie shells next time.
