Drag and Drop - Confirmation n Dialog possible?

Post by cbb99 »

Hi,
as I am sometimes to quick (and sloppy) for my own good, it sometimes happens that I move a folder via drag-and-drop into another folder. Sometimes even without realizing or remembering which folder. Is there the option that xplorer2 asks for a confirmation if I truly want to move a folder?
That would be great!

Thanks and best,
Stefan

Rather than holding down the left-button when dragging and dropping, use the right-button instead, and a context menu with variant options (move/copy, etc) will appear before anything is actually dropped.

you can turn off left-mouse drag and drop altogether, too.

Advanced Settings > Layout > General > Miscellaneous >
Turn off left drag-n-drop (right drag ok)

Thanks a lot! Exactly what I was looking for! Never realized there is such a feature.

It's actually a Windows Explorer feature, exported to x2 via the shell, meaning you can use it wherever friendly neighbourhood shell integration may be found.

Also, to add to Profess' suggestion, if you are particularly accident-prone, you can use Goto -> Drop Target from x2's main menu to see wherever it was you dropped your last item, just in case you have that niggling feeling in the back of your mind that you may have missed the mark previously.

Thanks for that tip Kilmatead... that's one I did not know about and I've been using x2 for many years.
