Folder encryption

Post by Robert2 »

Hi All,
Is it possible to encrypt and hide a folder in Windows 10 Home through xplorer²?
If not, please advise.

with xplorer2 you can do the standard things. You can turn on encryption through the folder property page. You cannot hide a folder but you can limit access to you only, using the SECURITY property page. However other computer administrators (if any) can override this security block

Hide Folders does a perfect job of it https://hidefolders.org/.
Hide Folders is released under GNU General Public License and is free for personal and commercial use.

When a folder is hidden through the “Hide Folder” application, it is hidden for both Windows Explorer and xplorer² (Pro, Ultimate Edition).
