Locate the menu for sort by regular expression "Casablanca 1984"

Post by dunno »

I'm unable to locate the dialogue menu which appears when sort by regular expression is clicked. I remember that the default search in the menu was "Casablanca (1984)" , sort by date in title, which is exactly how I want to sort my movie collection.

Why now, (in case Nikos reads this), because I can't get kilmatead's Date Sort to work which he wrote a while back, but Nikos was kind enough to incorporate a similar feature.

I want to create a button for this on the standard toolbar so that I can access this frequently.

you must be talking about the "fuzzy grouping" command, which is available in scrap windows only
for more information see here: www.zabkat.com/x2h_5.htm#xa_fuzzy

For Info: The sort by regular expression dialogue was part of Kilmatead's Date Sort application, I can't get his application to work to take a screen shot.

The Forum topic about this should be available, he named his Sort program, x2Filter-v0516

I have the program which he created, if you're interested tell me how I can send you the 2.7 meg files.

I have the beta [v0306], and two "released" versions, v0401 and v0402.

... and now have the 0516 version! Thanks JohnGalt!

Found the post where Kilmataed linked it - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=10194&p=62785&hili ... ter#p62785

Just downloaded from Dopbox - files are actually newer than that, I suppose it might be an even newer version (post says Updated 12-Oct-16 yet the actual executables in the archive are dated 15 Dec 2016, and the .ini is dated 14 Mar 2017)

I downloaded the recent version again and low and behold it works, old file must have been corrupted by the gremlins resident in my laptop.

Many thanks for the information gents, it never crossed my mind to re-install a original version.

On one PC x2filter's menu command "Sort By RegExp [S]" is visible and works, on another PC "Sort By RegExp [S]" is greyed out. I've reset all to default in the Configure dialogue.

Prior to installing the latest version of x2Filter I was clicking and toggling anything filter related in the standard X2 toolbar menus trying to get something to work on a hope and a prayer, neither worked and somehow something is permanently set.

I've toggled and fiddled with Filter views on off etc but no luck. Any ideas please before I wipe the slate clean by scrubbing the registry and clean install everything.

EDIT: I clean installed xplorerx2 with removal of registry entries, All is working as advertised.
Thanks.
