καλά Χριστούγεννα

At least that's what Google translate claims Merry Christmas is.

If you're Greek Orthodox them you won't be celebrating Christmas until the 7th. of January, what I call Epiphany.

A Greek friend of mine celebrates Christmas on the 7th. of January. I haven't seen him since the Covid pandemic started, otherwise I would go and ask him.

The only relevant calendar is the calendar of the current monarch. Proven good for centuries!

Depends on what branch of the Orthodox church you belong in. Old Calendarists will celebrate Christmas later than the New (Gregorian) Calendarists. I am Greek Orthdox and follow the usual 25th December route. On a side note, both calendarists follow the old Julian calendar for the setting of the Orthodox Easter dates.

In Greece and Cyprus, Agios Vasilis is Father Christmas and he arrives 1st January. That is also his and my name day!
