Windows and share names sometimes leaves a bit to be desired, and randomly breaks.
IP addresses, especially when statically assigned, don't.

All my systems' LAN IP's are reserved addresses in my router, they always have the same IP.

Yeah, statically assigned.appyface wrote: 2023 Dec 02, 18:26 All my systems' LAN IP's are reserved addresses in my router, they always have the same IP.
I do the same thing for all my devices on my LAN as well. DHCP reservations are a ton easier from the router than configuring IPs for each individual device lol.
Even if ti does make my NE friends cringe a bit.

Re: X2 hanging on unavailable network share
can you try this test version? (just unpack everything and run)
https://www.zabkat.com/test/test.7z
it shouldn't delay startup for unavailable \\192. kind of items in the QAL and if it does you should be able to press ESC key
make sure you are running the correct test version (it has rubbish toolbars), or check HELP > ABOUT menu
you must quit your normal xplorer2 to run the test
thanks

Re: X2 hanging on unavailable network share
Confirmed normal X2 is not running, launched test version, no QAL - is that the expected result? Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Re: X2 hanging on unavailable network share
Share became unavailable so I was able to test.
Beta opened immediately (QAL not enabled). Enabled QAL. Launched a new window that opened immediately.
I also closed and relaunched with the QAL still enabled, opened immediately.
Launched my regular X2, it hung some minutes before opening. (Shares some settings? My regular X2 had QAL turned off.)
Seems beta has fixed the issue.
Thanks.
ETA: I guess they do share settings. I uninstalled the beta and said delete the settings, since I didn't want any traces of the beta left on the system. Except it deleted all of my regular X2 settings.
