In my opinion, "show in groups" is the best feature ever added to windows explorer.

Having only recently come across xplorer2 (though I had seen and enjoyed 2xExplorer in the past), I was quite impressed by the array of features it provides even in the free version.  Certainly far beyond the range of any other freeware explorer replacement.  It even installs cleanly, which is more than can be said for what seems to be the majority of programs these days.  No huge set of enormous third-party libraries (usually a bunch of ActiveX controls) to install -- excellent.

A multiple document interface is a natural step in the evolution of file management, and long overdue.  This program provides that function without a ton of excess garbage features cluttering its functionality.  Simple and effective; Mr. Bozinis is my hero.

When I saw that this poster brought up the one feature I found missing though, I felt compelled to drop a comment.  While some may feel that the "show in groups" option is not particularly useful (it does indeed use more screen space), I use it in standard explorer for two reasons.  One, it allows more effective use of the large icons display, especially with arrangement by type simultaneously active.  Two, each category/group is given a special header title.  This information is part of the shell classes, of course, and can be customized fairly easily.  Other than using a details or similar view, however, there is no way to see this same information.

So, all in all, a big round of applause.  If show-in-groups is ever implemented, I'll die a happy man.
