Hardly. One of the advantages of using a third-party file manager in WinXP is that you can start it with different credentials, so that you can temporarily work as Administrator in the file manager without leaving your non-Administrator account. With this "TSR" nonsense, though, if you temporarily open xplorer2 with elevated privileges, then close it, the next time you open it it "opens" with Administrator privileges again without warning, because it never really closed. That's hazardous if it's well-documented, and stupid if it isn't.
Perhaps you can better document this so-called "Explorer replacement mode". It doesn't really seem to replace Explorer, and its implementation has surprising security issues like this. Surely it's of some value, but I don't yet understand what it is. Of course, I don't understand either how NTFS hard links made it into the interface, but junction points didn't, so obviously my understanding is limited.
