what made me write this blog, was a closer look at metro. I watched 2-3 hours worth of video aimed at app developers. If you think metro is scary from the user point of view (in terms of readjusting habits) then wait till you see how you are meant to write code for it! The ultimate in paranoia.
microsoft come up with a new "killer" idea every other year, and more often than not they abandon it for something "even better". What happened to silverlight? .NET? You can imagine what will happen to metro style programming... Sorry but I don't have time to reeducate myself on someone's whim and to follow the latest fad. I am an old dog
apps sell mostly because of hype. It won't be long before we have "america's next top app" kind of TV shows, the whole thing is that feeble

I'd rather not hurt myself that much...nikos wrote:...was a closer look at metro...wait till you see how you are meant to write code for it! The ultimate in paranoia....
Try to keep your spirits up. From what I gather, it's just another way to write small, basic apps and a central storefront to put them. We can all still write in C++ like the old days, and can also write in .NET like the recent-but-now-old days. It all still works, there's just another app framework on the block.
