Disable automatic play in preview pane

Hello,

I use another player like the integrated WMP. And so when the video is automatically played in preview pane and I open it in my main player I have 2 sounds (the integrated WMP also doesn't remember audio settings). How can I disable this automatic preview so that just an preview image of the video is generated? Is this possible?

Uncheck Tools -> Options -> Window (Tab) -> Start playing media files immediately. If the option is "greyed-out" just select a media-file first, then go back to the setting and it should be available to untick.

Using the "Native" tab (instead of Draft) will default to a thumbnail image without automatically playing it.

Edit: Except a quick check tells me that "Native" view is only available in the pro/ultimate versions, not in the Lite version - so, apparently you can't have the preview image alone.

Thanks for the answer. However "Tools -> Options -> Window (Tab) -> Start playing media files immediately." disables preview for video files altogether.

So it really seems to be a "premium" feature then.

first play any media file then go and switch this option
