Tabs not saved on exit

Thanks, great program, used for many years.

I work with an external hard disk. If I start the computer and x2 before attaching the disk, all tabs pointing to that disk from the previous session are lost.

The manual (p. 83) seems to say that the tabs are recoverable. If so, how?

if some folder doesn't exist when x2 restarts then its tab is reset to the desktop
if you get the professional xplorer2 then you can save tab sets and restore them easily (CUSTOMIZE > FOLDER GROUPS menu command)

it is automatically saved as you can tell if you leave your external hard disk plugged in

Sorry for not being clear. Let me try again.

I occasionally start my computer & x2 before attaching the hard disk, and all tabs from the previous session have gone for ever. I'm trying to change my behaviour, but in the meanwhile, can x2 Lite or Pro help me by saving the last tab set automatically so that it is recoverable when I then attach the hard disk?

i understand what you are saying and xplorer2 is saving the last tab set, only it quickly forgets it
if you want more permanent memory of tabs you need the professional version as stated

Thanks. And can x2 Pro be set up so that it saves the current tab set permanently and automatically (without human intervention) on exit?

not in the sense you describe it
anyway another solution to your problem is this: if you start xplorer2 and you see tabs are misplaced, plug in your hard disk and start another xplorer2 (without closing the first one), That will bring back the original tabs
