christmas bonus
here's deskrule build 1.0.31 www.zabkat.com/test/deskrule_setup.exe
if there are any TC converts here you'll be glad to find lister plugins now supported for the quickviewer. If this works it will find its way in xplorer2 eventually
for more information and instructions see the readme file in the installation folder

Re: christmas bonus
newer version .32 completes the picture doing WDX plugins for extra columns (file attributes) and text search. Download link as above
Re: christmas bonus
Pretty cool! For some reason I thought that this was only for managing photos, but it seems to be more general than that.
EDIT: How are the WDX plugins accessed? It's been a while since I tinkered with TC plugins, but there should be a WDX file someplace, yes?
PS: Can deskrule find Outlook emails?

Re: christmas bonus
the easiest way is to manage plugins with TC then copy/rename the TC settings file as shell:appdata\zabkat\tcplugins.ini
there is more information in the readme file in deskrule

Re: christmas bonus
Okie dokie,
I was understanding wrong... There aren't Deskrule plugins to use with the TC file manager. Rather, plugins designed for TC, can also be used with (plugged in to) Deskrule!
Still not sure I'm doing it right though...
Does this setup look right?

From the TC screenshot, you can see my "Count" column from the decIcoWDX plugin.
From the custom column editor you can see the name of the property (field?)

I put the TCPLUGINS ini in there (top image) and restarted Deskrule, so I should be able to find the Count property -yes?

Also, it would be nice of the "Property categories" drop list had a "Plugins" category

Re: christmas bonus
Uh oh... Typo in my ini header, me thinks.
Re: christmas bonus
your tcplugins.ini file should go in a folder called shell:appdata\zabkat, not where deskrule is installed. Also your ini file should have two sections one for lister and one for content, you can't mix them:
Code: Select all
[ListerPlugins]
0=C:\Users\god\Downloads\listplugsample\Debug\listplug.wlx
1=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wlx_TotalHLT_1.7b160\Highlight.wlx
2=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wlx_SQLiteViewer_1.9.6\SQLiteViewer.wlx
2_detect=ext="DB" | ext="DB3" | ext="SQLITE" | ext="SQLITE3" | ext="FOSSIL"
0_detect=force | (ext="C" | ext="CPP") & FIND("{") | (ext="H") | (ext="PAS" & FINDI("BEGIN"))
3=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wlx_SQLiteViewer_1.9.6\SQLiteViewer.wlx64
[ContentPlugins]
2=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wdx_textsearch\TextSearch.wdx
1=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wdx_xpdfsearch\xPDFSearch.wdx
0=C:\Users\god\Downloads\wdx_filesys_src\wdx\filesys.wdx
1_detect=EXT="PDF"
Re: christmas bonus
Very nice! Now I can see which Windows dlls have the most icons for me to extract and reuse...

So the next question that begs to be asked: Why not just integrate this technology right in to x2 Ult???

Re: christmas bonus
Ah jeez man... You JUST came out with v3 after 27 years of v2. Will it be another quarter century for v4 !?!?!nikos wrote:patience m'lad, it's coming in the next version
Any hoo...
Will this be the subforum for Deskrule?
I'm ready to post my feature request wishlist, and want to put it in the right location...
EDIT: PS: love the cheeky audio alert/messages.

Re: christmas bonus
it's going to be in v3.1 whenever that would be, you won't have to wait too long.
there is no special forum for deskrule yet, but you can post your comments/ideas here
