As I read the documentation deskrule uses Windows index files. I've turned off indexing. How will that impact its use?

I started turning off indexing a long time ago because of the performance hit on my less than stellar computers. Since I don't do a lot of searching I've never missed it. However, now I have Win 7, SSD would there be that same hit? Maybe I should turn indexing back on?

in any normal computer the impact of indexing is insignificant. Deskrule works without indexing but the search will be slower

I've added a demo video that shows what this can do for you, now in its nearly final trim.
Am I the only one who gives a d@mn about this new toy I wonder? :)

Well, if it searched ADS, some of us would have needed it yesterday!

And you're the only dev in the world who would actually "demo" how to turn off checking for updates before getting to any of the juicy stuff. You gotta grab your audience right out of the gate, not put them to sleep.

that is a demo video meant for people that don't know what dockable toolbars are and how to resize rebar toolbars. It takes you through a quick spin of everything including search. There are other demo videos showing finer details of each feature

I give a d@mn. I use it once or twice a day.

I watched the overview demo, but on version 36, I don't see a dropdown arrow on the help icon that might let me watch the other demos. I also don't have the magnifying glass icon that the overview shows for fast and simple search.

I have an Autohotkey macro for copying the deskrule results into an xplorer2 scrap window. Very useful.

ok then, it's not just me, but at least 2 of us :)
to transfer stuff to xplorer2, open a scrap then in deskrule use CTRL+A to select everything and then drag-drop

Sure, my macro does exactly that, but just one click. I was sort of suggesting it as a built in feature for deskrule. After all, how many of (both of) us are using deskrule, but not xplorer2

How about the missing "fast and simple" search icon?
